Fyi, me haven't watched or read any single of Tolkien's work. I know LOTR was popular at that time, but I didn't interested at all. So, last Friday, I tried to watch prequel of LOTR which is The Hobbit. Who knows I will be interested in Tolkien's work after that.

In the opening, Old Bilbo narrates the story of Erebor, land of peaceful dwarves with Thrain as a King. The land was in peaceful until Dragon Smaug destroyed Erebor. Until this story finished, I was so amazed with how imaginery Erebor and dwarves are.

Then Old Bilbo and Frodo appeared in their holes at Bag End. How cute was Hobbit's hole. I like how the story turns from Old Bilbo into Young Bilbo by a smoke.

At first, I thought Gandalf The Grey looks alike Dumbledore. Hoohoo. Ok, Ian McKellen of Gandalf is far far different from Michael Gambon of Dumbledore. Switch to next topic. Martin Freeman is the right person of Bilbo Baggins. Yeah, everyone says the same thing of him.

My first favourite scene is of course when the dwarves are coming to Bilbo's house. They really are making a mess in Bilbo's house. Fili & Kili are somehow 'model' look alike. They're quite handsome in their races. But afterthat, the dwarves are cleaning all up into the first position. Moreover, when dwarves are singing along a song, that's really beautiful. I like that song. It's really like a choir. The title is Misty Mountains Cloud. After this, the journey is begin.

5 cm is an Indonesian movie. I will try to review it in English :) This movie is based on one best-seller novel in my country by Donny Dhirgantoro. I have one inside my bookshelf.

Beautiful, isn't it? There are in Indonesia only. Beside its beautiful scenery, i like how they interpret "dream and goal" to one good quote. Your feet, your hands, your eyes, your neck, your heart, and your mouth are your assets given by God to achieve your goal. Hanging your goal 5 centimetre in front of your forehead. 

Biarkan keyakinan kamu, 5 centimeter menggantung mengambang di depan kening kamu. Dan.. sehabis itu yang kamu perlu cuma..

Kaki yang akan berjalan lebih jauh dari biasanya, 

tangan yang akan berbuat lebih banyak dari biasanya, 

mata yang akan menatap lebih lama dari biasanya, leher yang akan lebih sering melihat ke atas, lapisan tekad yang seribu kali lebih keras dari baja,

serta mulut yang akan selalu berdoa..

One thing i like about this movie is its power of dialogue. Fun, light, inspiring, and powerful. Other than that,  this movie isn't about adventure at all. Between their friendship, there comes love. Fortunately, their love conflict doesn't appear too much like other movie does. Enough and well interpreted.

Well, at last, always believe what is it in 5 centimetre in front of your forehead. For Indonesian friend, go watch it without any doubt. Recommend approved :D

Welcoming December, I watched Rise of the Guardians yesterday. It's been a long time i watch a movie in 3D, but it's worth. Good to see Rise of the Guardians. Again, I am always falling in love with any animation movie.


a brief storyline

before, there were 4 guardians who always take care all of children in earth. They are North Santa, Easter Bunny, Sandman, and Tooth Fairy. They all represent Christmas, Easter, Dream & Hope. Unlike the others, Jack Frost is a loner, a rebel, but also has a warm heart to protect the children. When evil spirit, Pitch Black appears to threaten all the children with bad dream, Jack Frost, the chosen from Man of the Moon, must join forces with other 4 guardians. They must protect the hopes, beliefs, and imagination of children all around the world.

North : "We go by many names, and take many forms. We bring wonder and hope, we bring joy and dreams. We are the Sandman and the Tooth Fairy, we are the Easter Bunny, and Santa. And our powers are greater than you ever imagine."

as you can see the movie posters, it can tell how the characters are all beautiful and pretty instead. especially,  Jack Frost. ohh, how come, how come, Jack Frost is so cool like a real boy. i admire Jack Frost so much. hahaha. i collect Jack Frost images and wanna share with you. here they are.

okay, stop here. stop jack frosty things. ahahha. overall, i enjoy watching this movie, even in 3D. many little children are coming to watch the animation. Rise of the Guardians won their heart. the storyline is so simple. fun to watch because there are some jokes in it. yetis and elves are the most funniest things. in my opinion, elves here looks alike minions in Despicable Me, clumsy, annoying yet funny.


go watch Rise of the Guardians and have some fun. nice to watch. if you ask me, which one i like the most, rise of the guardians, brave, and despicable me? they are all my favourites, but rise of the guardians is behind brave and despicable me in storyline.
