New Category

Finally I made decision to put a new category in this my lovely blog, because of my new addiction into snail-mail things ( thanks God I found Swap-bot & Postcrossing website ). You can see mail category above.

I will post about what I sent and what I received from those 2 websites. I will also post what I buy related to mail things. Check out my first outgoing mail below.

How is my first envelope's drawing? I am inspired by popular Indonesian novel cover "Lupus"

I felt so exciting when wrote this stuff, decorated it with my doodles, stickers, then put it into envelope. I hope the person who received this things will be happy. Since then, I hunt places which sell postcards and letter sets. I found these cute postcards from a store named Scoop.

Now You See Me (2013)

This is my first time seeing this kind of movie about magician versus cops. For the result, I like it very much to the moon and back, LOL.

a brief storyline

The Four Horsemen is a team with 4 magicians who have their own specialties : The illusionist J.Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), The escape woman (ex Atlas' assistant) Hanley Reeves (Isla Fisher), The mentalist Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), and The fast hand expert Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). They then do a great live show of a bank robbery in France (apparently it's real) and give all the robbed-money to audiences. This case leads FBI Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) and Interpol agent Alma Dray (Melanie Laurent) into an unexplained magician-chasing case.

a brief review

I really enjoyed watching The Four Horsemen's magic show, eventhough most of the tricks will lead you to many questions on how they do it and for what they do it. It's really entertaining to watch magic tricks into a big scene like this.

Jesse Eisenberg's character as Daniel Atlas is quite similar with his previous character in "Social Network", arrogant and fast chatter. I think he does better acting here than previous because I can see more facial expressions of him. He looks cooler & handsome too. Woody Harrelson is also portraying his character successfully as a rakish mentalist. I like Isla Fisher and Dave Franco too. They are really the perfect casting for this movie.

I don't see the chemsitry between Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent. Totally "zonk". I don't expect any relationship or love affair things between them in the movie. I think Ruffalo's acting is flat. But I like Melanie Laurent france accent though. You will see Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine in one scene together, hell yeah. They're really great veteran-actors, hehehe.

I just dissapointed at how the movie ends

The main factor why "Now You See Me" is worth to watch is the perfect casts. Morgan Freeman & Michael Caine successfuly make the casts are even more amazing. If you like or curious about magic tricks, you definitely will like this movie. Moreover, it's not only about magic tricks, you also can see some fast-paced action scenes on it. It's really fun to watch. Be prepared and don't take it too seriously about their magic tricks.

Hello June

This is really a common post (read : say hello to new month) when I'm blogging. June already comes,guys.

It supposed to be my busiest month because my thesis deadline is already near. Really, writing thesis in Chinese is really difficult. Moreover, my lecturer who is responsible for guiding me & my friend doesn't really help us. Sigh. Do any of you who really pro in Chinese wanna help me? Hehehe.

Enough discussing my thesis. Let's discussing my new hobby. Besides watching movie & eating, I found some blogs & websites are doing snail mailing. I checked on it and now I'm really falling in love to them. It's really fun buy some new postcards, new stamps, new letter sheets and so on. These are some mail things that I bought yesterday.

Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) gather Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) team to take down Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) who leads some skilled-mercenary drivers. Unfortunately, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is in Shaw's team, which brings Dom and their best team inevitably heading to London to get Shaw. They get no payments, but if they can get Shaw, Hobbs must clear their previous penalty.

a brief review

For you who didn't watch the previous Fast & Furious ( I mean Fast 5 or maybe from the first Fast & Furious? ), I suggest you to watch them first. Eventhough there's a slightly previous clip from Fast Five, basically the story line, the characters, and the situation are the same with the previous one. If you watch previous series, you will find Letty's character was dead. Fortunately, for who didn't watch it, there's still a preview why Letty's character was dead but still alive next. But yeah, it will be nice if you get to watch previous Fast & Furious series.

I was happy while watching this movie. The plot is nice and entertaining. It's really a great mix of action and humour. And, I won't comment on all 'pretty' rides in this film. They are already PERF ! Other than that all the casts of Fast & Furious are back, exactly like a little reunioun. The gang leader Toretto, the hilarious one Roman, tech geeky Tej, also Han & Gisele.What can I say about them? None. Everybody knows them. Everyone is perfect and doing a great job as usual.

How about the villain? Luke Evans will be the great villain for Fast & Furious ever. His british sound, his staring, his behaviour are the key of his stronger character. Ah, I happily want to show you that one of Indonesian action actor, Joe Taslim is also doing great acting as Jah. Uyeah, who don't get amazed with his fighting.

The series is going better and better. Fast & Furious 6 really successfully continues the success of Fast 5. Great cars, great actors, great fights, what else are great? Go watch Fast & Furious 6. It's one and only the best car-racing movie. Oh, the ending is awesome, maybe it will lead us to next installment, Fast & Furious 7? I don't know if I can say this little spoiler or not, but there's Jason Statham in the ends of the movie.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

This sequel from the first installment Star Trek 4 years ago really made me crazy, crazy in love for sure. It's a nice chance for me to watch such an incredible movie. 'Star Trek Into Darkness' really follows the massive successfulness of 2009 film Star Trek.

a brief storyline

After a massacre at Starfleet which later found that the culprit is a member of Starfleet, John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch), Captain James Kirk (Chris Pine) & Spock (Zachary Quinto) are sent to destroy the villain at Klingon planet. Together with Kirk's crew, they flew to Klingon planet eventhough their presence could set-off a war. In the end, could Kirk, Spock and other crews defeat the villain?

a fair review (contains spoiler)

From the beginning of the movie, when Kirk and Bones escape from the primitive planet, then Spock successfully survives in the deep of volcanic mountain, the movie already provide its eminence. It's really a wonderful fast scene. After that, the plot is more entertaining and thrilling. So exciting to see what will happen next in an iconic outer-space area and what all crew will do in such a cool space aircraft.

It is my first time to like all the characters, even its villain. All casts are superb. Chris Pine as Captain James Kirk is such a hot swag captain that I would want to work to. Zachary Quinto as Spock who worships the rules made me amaze too. I like Spock character, I don't know why but when him and Kirk are debating, it's really fun to watch them, even me laughing. Maybe it's because Spock's half vulcan-half human heart.

Other casts are doing a great job too, like Karl Urban as Bones, Jon Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov and Simon Pegg as Scotty. They have their own characters and portrays it so well. Oh, and I don't forget to mention Zoe Saldana as Uhura and Alice Eve as Carol Marcus. See? I remember all the characters well since it's my first time watching Star Trek. I couldn't say anymore, they are so great, it looks like an honour if you can run as one of Enterprise crew like them. They are so cool and much bring the character so lively. You know, the balance of their appearence are well maintained.

Last, Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison or Khan is having more than enough criteria to be a great villain. His deep voice makes me stunned. It's really a brilliant idea to have Benedict as Khan.

I think I love all the scenes in this movie. Maybe my fav will be when Kirk and Spock take their hand gestures together and all scenes that raises Spock's vulcan emotion to be a half human. Eventhough some dialogues are hard to understand ( it's so fast actually when Spock talks ), but I really enjoy the movie well. The spacelight, the explosions, the Trek techy things, and the outer-space thingy are really entertaining and satisfying.

You don't need to watch the first Star Trek, but it will be great if you have watched that. Some says 2009 Star Trek is greater than this movie. I haven't watched it but I will. Star Trek Into Darkness is really a great piece of entertainment even to a non Star Trek fan like me. Kudos to J.J Abrams. Must-Watch movie.
